Kobe Beef Makes the Best Burgers in Dallas

Best Burger in Dallas

Portabella Mushroom Kobe

Many Texans agree—Kobe beef makes the best burgers in Dallas. Here’s a look at the brief history of Kobe beef and what makes it so special. Also, once you’re convinced that it makes the best burger in Dallas, we want to share a few Humperdinks menu items to whet your appetite.

Highly prized American Kobe beef is produced by Wagnu cattle raised in America. The beef from these cattle come from the same genetic lines as Wagnu cattle originally raised in Japan. While American Kobe beef possesses the same legendary tenderness as Japanese Kobe beef, the American version is designed specifically to please American palates and expected portion sizes.

Rio Grande Burger

Thanks to isolated breeding and distinctive feeding techniques, American Kobe beef yields superior marbling and remarkable tenderness. Kobe beef is used to produce the highest grade steaks in the country. In fact, when compared to meat ratings of Select, Choice or Prime, most Kobe beef is ranked at least two grades higher than Prime, earning the rating of Platinum.

Kobe beef burgers are Humperdinks’ top-selling burgers. Unlike other burger joints in Dallas, all our burgers are delivered fresh, not frozen, to insure the highest quality product possible. All burgers are basted with our compound steak butter and seasoned with Humperdinks’ 17-blend spice rub. Here are a few menu selections to excite your taste buds.

10 Surprising Health Benefits of Beer

Health Benefits of Drinking BeerIf you enjoy a smooth beer from time to time, now you can delight in the fact that surprising health benefits of beer are beginning to be uncovered. For years, wine drinkers have enjoyed their guilty pleasure with less guilt, knowing that red wine can help reduce the risk of heart disease. Recent studies are now showing that there are more health benefits of drinking beer than most people ever imagined.

To tap into these health benefits of beer, it’s important that you drink only in moderation, meaning that one 12-ounce beer per day for women and up to two glasses per day for men should be the maximum beer consumption. Heavy drinking leads to liver damage, heart problems, and some forms of cancer. Therefore, take these health benefits of beer into account, but remember that alcohol should be consumed in moderation.

1.      Strong Bones
Silicon, which is linked to bone health, is present in beer. To enjoy this health benefit of drinking beer to the fullest, choose pale ale.

2.      Strong Heart
Moderate drinking reduces the risk of heart attack and cardiovascular disease by 25% to 40%. A drink or two per day can also help raise HDL cholesterol, which is the kind you want to help arteries from becoming clogged.

3.      Healthy Kidneys
Drink a bottle of beer daily and you could reduce your risk of kidney stones by 40%!

4.      Healthy Brain
Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia may be kept at bay by drinking a glass a beer per day.

5.      Lower Cancer Risk
Researchers speculate that some health benefits of beer are possible because of the sugar in beer that helps block HCAs from forming. HCAs are harmful carcinogens produced when meat is pan-fried. By marinating steak in beer, about 70% of HCAs are eliminated.

6.      Boost Vitamin Levels
Who knew you could get vitamin B12 and folic acid from drinking beer? Researchers have also found beer drinkers to have about 30% more vitamin B6 in their blood than non-drinkers.

7.      Guard Against Stroke
Moderate alcoholic intake can stop blood clots from forming, one of the health benefits of beer that can prevent having a stroke.

8.      Reduce Diabetes Risk
Drinking a beer or two per day can increase insulin sensitivity, which helps fight against the development of type 2 diabetes.

9.      Lower Blood Pressure
It has been recognized that wine is good for your heart, but beer could be even better! A Harvard study found that moderate beer consumption reduces high blood pressure in women better than drinking wine or spirits in moderation.

10.  Live a Longer Life
The USDA reviewed 50 studies in 2005 and found that moderate drinkers tend to live longer. The department also estimates that moderate drinking prevents 26,000 deaths per year thanks to lower rates of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

Come enjoy a glass of Humperdinks’ award-winning beers with your friends and drink to everyone’s health without feeling guilty!

Yu Darvish Rangers – Will this Strong Addition Lead to Another Rangers World Series?

Yu Darvish RangersWe’re guessing Texas Rangers fans everywhere are  as excited as we are that the Yu Darvish/Rangers combination is official now that he picked up his first major-league victory in an 11-5 rout of the Seattle Mariners on April 9! And like you, we’re hoping Darvish’s strong start is just the beginning of a run that will culminate with another Rangers World Series appearance! Only time will tell. Until then, you should learn a little more about Darvish and why Humperdinks Restaurant and Brewery is the best place to watch Rangers games.

Darvish was originally drafted by a Japanese professional baseball team called the Fighters in 2004. Darvish, then only 18 and fresh out of high school, was already proving himself to be one of the best pitchers of his day. He continued to play for the Fighters and even made an appearance at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. The Rangers had on Darvish on their radar for quite a while and realized they needed to be the highest bidder when his contract with the Fighters was up. That time arrived just a few months ago.

On January 18, 2012, Yu Darvish joined the Rangers, but he did not come cheap. The Rangers bid $51.7 million just for the rights to negotiate with the pitching phenom; the two sides settled on a six-year, $60 million contract. “Yu-mania” has been in full force ever since as the Yu Darvish/Rangers combination prepared for the 2012 season during Cactus League play in Arizona, and it’s sure to only accelerate as the season progresses!

Yu Darvish/Rangers fans should stop in to the Arlington Humperdinks for flame-grilled Kobe burgers, house-made pizza, heavily aged steaks and much more! If you make Humperdinks your restaurant of choice during the baseball season, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy our new game room with a ten-foot HD Super Screen and plenty of seating for all. You even have access to the Humperdinks Shuttle, which transports fans to and from The Ballpark in Arlington for only $5. The convenient shuttle is available for every game as well as certain specialty events at the stadium.

We’re all set for the baseball season! Come check us out today!
